Jeanne D. (Williams) Zelinka

Jeanne D. Zelinka, 93

New Middletown: Jeanne D. Zelinka, 93, formerly of Lowellville, passed away Monday morning, June 17, 2019, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Larry, with whom she has lived for the past 20 years. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanne was born April 7, 1926 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie (DeCesare) Williams.

She graduated from Lowellville High School in 1944 and was a lifelong area resident.

Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and homemaker who loved cooking and baking. Family and friends always looked forward to her pies, chocolate cake, and pancakes. She lived a long and full life and loved spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. For years she enjoyed playing cards at her monthly card clubs.

Jeanne is survived by two daughters Rebecca L. (Russ) Snyder of Poland and Suzanne L. (Larry) Verzilli of New Middletown. She leaves nine grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Suchora of Boardman, Amy Connolly of Boardman, Ashlee (Jeremy) Morgan of Poland, Nick (Lisa) Verzilli of Pittsburgh, Russell Snyder (Shaunie) of Columbus, Joey Verzilli of Nashville, TN, Brittany (Eric) Krestel of Sruthers, Lauren Verzilli of Pittsburgh, and Hersha Snyder of LaHabra, CA; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph (Eleanor) Williams of Lowellville and Richard Williams; and her former daughter-in law, RoseAnne (Lou) Pastore of Boardman.

Besides her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John J. Zelinka, whom she married on October 26, 1946, died April 10, 1999, a son, Robert J. Zelinka who passed away on January 27, 2019; a grandson, Bobby "Z" Zelinka, and her sister-in-law, Ange Williams.

There will be funeral services on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main Street in Poland with Reverend David Verzilli officiating. Family and friends may call on Friday from 3:00 to 5:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Lowellville.
