Jean Bentley Jones, 99
Poland - Jean Bentley Jones, 99, of Poland, OH, passed peacefully February 4, 2021 while in Hospice Care at The Hampton Woods Assisted Living Facility in Poland, OH.
Jean was born in Pulaski, NY on April 9, 1921 and she graduated from Pulaski Academy and attended Rochester Business School. Jean and Roy were married in 1941 at St. James Episcopal Church in Pulaski and moved to Utica, NY where they were parishioners of Moriah Welsh Church. Roy’s work took them to Brookville, PA, Jacksonville and Tampa, FL, and eventually to Poland, OH in 1954. Roy and Jean were active members of St. John Episcopal Church in Youngstown, OH.
Jean was active with Campfire Girls and Easter Seals. Roy and Jean were longtime members of Fonderlac Country Club and were avid golfers. Jean found great joy, especially later in life, with her Bridge Club.
Jean is survived by daughters, Diane (Ernest) Naples of Columbus, OH, Suzanne (Robert) Veltri of Lancaster, SC, Deborah (Keneth) Harcar of New Castle, PA, Winifred (Rodney) Weaver of Portland, OR; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy John Jones; her parents, William Kimball and Winifred Davis Bentley; her sisters, Janet (Albert) Johnson of Pulaski, NY, Dorothy (Carl) Krespin of Wilmington, DE, Winifred (Thomas) Evans of Princeton, NJ; granddaughter, Catherine Veltri; and niece, Jean Johnson Nash (Henry) Mathison of Pulaski, NY.
There will be a private service for immediate family in the near future.
Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street in Boardman.
