Jean Ann Shiminsky

Jean Ann Shiminsky, 53 Struthers- Jean Ann Shiminsky of 894 5th Street, died Wednesday afternoon at her residence. Jean Ann affectionately known as Jeannie, was born December 11, 1953 in Youngstown, a daughter of Clair Vernon and Donna Jean Miller Reedy. She was a life-long resident of Struthers. A 1971 graduate of Struthers High School, Jeannie was a sales associate in handbags for Kaufmannâa�a��s Department Store and then for Goodwill Industries. Jeannie was an animal lover and enjoyed crafts, music and dancing. She was a loving and caring mother who always put her children first and it was her sole purpose to provide a successful life for her children. She leaves her father and stepmother Carol Morrison of Youngstown; one daughter, Heather L. Shiminsky of Warren; one son, Michael T. Shiminsky of Struthers; one brother, James Reedy of Struthers; one stepbrother, Mark Morrison of Elkhart, IN; and two stepsisters, Kim Morrison and Margaret Porter both of Youngstown. Jeannie was preceded in death by her mother Donna Jean Reedy. Jeannie, a survivor of Hodgkinâa�a��s disease in earlier years, also fought a courageous battle with lung cancer. Throughout recent years, always with a smile on her face, Jeannie lived with passion and strength to protect her children, family and friends. Her family would like to thank everyone for their support, thoughts and prayers in their time of grief. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
