Poland-Jean Mochtyak, 86, died early Friday morning at Hampton Woods following a brief illness. She was born in Youngstown on September 1, 1928 to the late, John and Catherine Lysowski Kott.
She is survived by her son, George (Debra) Mochtyak of Poland; sisters, Irene (Ray) Till of New Middletown and Louise Kott of Campbell; many nieces and nephews and her little buddy, her loving dog Daisy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Mochtyak on May 10, 2012, whom she was married to for 59 years; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Mochtyak and an infant daughter.
Jean was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening and playing cards.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Reema Taneja and Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care given to Jean and also her day caregivers, Dori, Carrie and Mary.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10am at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Kevin E. Marks officiating. There will be no calling hours. The Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland is handling arrangements.
