Jean M. McCarthy âa�" 90 LOWELLVILLE âa�" Jean M. McCarthy, 90 of 312 Queisner Ave., died Friday morning at the Hospice House. Mrs. McCarthy was born August 12, 1917 in Lowellville, a daughter of Lawrence and Anna McIntee Meehan. She was a life long Lowellville resident. She was a 1935 Graduate of Lowellville High School, and attended Youngstown College, School of Business. Mrs. McCarthy worked as a Legal Secretary for Manchester Bennett Powers and Ullman, for many years. A member of the Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, where she belonged to the Womens Guild, and was a very active church member. Mrs. McCarthy loved bowling, she was very active with the Lowellville Schools PTA, and the Boosters. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and baking pies, her specialty was her apple pies. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren playing sports. Mrs. McCarthy was known as the âa�A"bleacher refereeâa�A�. Her voice could always be heard, making her calls. She leaves her husband, of 57 years, Paul E. McCarthy whom she married December 26, 1950 during the big snow storm, one daughter, Jean A. (Martin) Kamensky of Lowellville, Paul M. (Mary M.) McCarthy of Alliance, Kevin F. McCarthy of Lowellville, a daughter-in-law, Judy L. McCarthy of Lowellville. Six grandchildren, Kylene Rose Kamensky, Janine Marie (Kevin) Stinchcomb, Erin Nicole Kamensky, Kevin Michael McCarthy, Amy Jean McCarthy and Kaitlin Johanna McCarthy, two step grandchildren, Linda (Rich) Chapman, Cristina Witzel, and one great-grandchild, Jacob Witzel-McConkey. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Joseph, John, James, and Lawrence Meehan, and three sisters Irene and Elizabeth McCarthy, and Mary Ellen Lakin. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 4-7 at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville, where prayer services will be Monday morning at 10:00 AM Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:30 at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Interment will follow at the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
