Services will be held Saturday 11:00am at Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman for Jean L. Farr, 89. She passed away Friday afternoon at the home of her son in New Jersey.
Mrs. Farr was born May 28, 1921 in Youngstown, a daughter of William and Edna Price Foltz. She was raised in Alliance and graduated in 1939 from Alliance High School. She had worked for J.C. Penney in the security department.
Her husband Howard S. Farr whom she married, Oct. 10, 1942 died, Jan. 30, 1970.
Surviving her are three sons, William (Patricia) Farr of Fredricksburg, VA, Robert (Evelyn) Farr of Annandale, NJ and Richard (Lisa) Farr of Boardman. Two sisters, Doris Bradley and Barbara (Bruce) Brewer both of Alliance. And five grandchildren, Jennifer, William "Will", Byron, Ryan, and Bethany Farr. Also two step grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Sophie.
Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents is a sister Margie Laposki.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10-10:50am at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Rd. Canfield, OH 44406, or Ring Dog Rescue, POB 28632, Henrico, VA 23228. Jean supported animal charities, due to her genuine love of animals.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Hunterdon Hospice of New Jersey for the wonderful support they provided in helping Bob and Evelyn care for Jean during her last weeks.
