Poland - Jean Marie Lynch Dearing, 90, left her earthly bonds on Saturday morning, October 3, 2015, to join with God and enjoy all the majesties of heaven.
Jean was born August 12, 1925 in Latrobe, PA, a daughter of the late Robert M. and Minerva S. Eiseman Lynch. Growing up as a child, she spent much of her time at her family's cottage at Conneaut Lake, PA, where she enjoyed sailing, boating, and horseback riding.
She was a 1943 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and received her Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. After graduation from college, she moved to New York City, where she worked for several years for the Bonwit-Teller and Anson Jones Dress Shop. She returned to Poland and married Albin "Bud" P. Dearing, IV on May 20, 1950.
Jean had a deep appreciation for contemporary art and fashion. Pursuing her artistic talents, Jean assisted her mother in the development and operations of her art gallery, The Arts, on Boardman Street in downtown Youngstown and was a member of the art group, The Questers. Jean was also a member of the Poland Village Club and the Garden Club, and a founding member of the social club, The Wrecks.
Jean inherited the gift of joke telling from her father and will always be remembered for telling a good joke. She enjoyed creative writing and loved writing special messages in greeting cards to family and friends.
She was a member of Bethel Friends Church in Poland.
Her husband, Albin "Bud," preceded her in death on June 23, 2014. Jean is survived by three daughters, Valerie Dearing of Poland, Dru (Fred) Marchese of Poland, and Julie (Mike) Simington of Poland; six grandchildren, Jordan (Missy) Shaver of Boardman, Britt (Dan) Mickley of Columbus, Benjamin (April) Marchese of St. Louis, Robert (Lindsay) Thompson of Poland, Cameron Marchese of Pittsburgh, and Casey (Nathalie) Thompson of Pittsburgh; five great-grandchildren, Dominic, Jonathan, and Elizabeth Marchese, Charleigh Mickley, and Kinsley Shaver; and a brother, Robert Marcus "Gark" (Mary Beth) Lynch Jr. of Priest River, Idaho.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, with Pastor Bobby Murphy officiating. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 4:30-6:45 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
