Jean C. Burns

Jean C. Burns, 86 POLAND- Jean C. Burns, 86, of Poland, died Saturday evening at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mrs. Burns was born July 4, 1917 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Mary Reed McComb. She was a life long area resident. She was a 1934 graduate of South High School, and received a Degree in Education from Muskingham College. She went on to receive her Masters Degree in Library Science at Slippery Rock University. She taught in both Champion and Liberty School Districts, before retiring in the late 70âa�a��s. Her husband Charles Frederick Burns, whom she married July 7, 1973, died April 14, 1988. She leaves two sons, Tim (Kathleen) Burns of Youngstown and Dave (Cynthia E.) Burns of Poland; one sister, Betsy (Don) Everett of North Canton; and four grandchildren, Heather Burns, Darcie Burns, John Burns, and David Burns Jr. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Burns; one brother, John McComb; and one sister, Peggy Baldwin. Funeral services will be Wednesday 10 AM at the Bethel Friends Church. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral home, Poland and Wednesday 9:00-9:45 AM at the church.
