Janice âa�A"Jayâa�A� Pompeii Calabrette, 88 Struthers- Janice Marie Pompeii Calabrette, 88, of Struthers, died early Friday morning at Forum Health, Northside Medical Center. Janice, affectionately known as Jay, was born January 23, 1919, in Lowellville a daughter of Carmen and Marie Loretta DeChellis Pompeii. She lived in the area all of her life. She was a 1937 graduate of Struthers High School and had worked at McKenzie Muffler and Michigan Hanger. Jay also worked at the Nebo Inn where she was known as the âa�A"infamous cook.âa�A� She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers and its Altar and Rosary Society. Her husband, William Calabrette, whom she married July 29, 1948, died June 23, 2003. She leaves one daughter, Marie (Larry) Stoner of Canal Fulton, OH; two sons, William (Joyce) Calabrette and Joseph Calabrette all of Struthers; one sister, Helen Carlucci also of Struthers; six grandchildren, Billie Jo Parker, Jennifer (Kyle) DeBrosse, Matthew Stoner, Daniel (Erin) Calabrette, Joseph and Joshua Calabrette; six great-grandchildren, Andrew and Dominic Parker, Leah, Carley and Connor Calabrette, and Mason DeBrosse; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Jay was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Rossi and three brothers, John, Charles and Daniel Pompeii. Funeral services will be Monday 10:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church.
