Janet M. Nolfi

Struthers - Janet Marie Nolfi, 56, passed away after a long 34-year battle with MS on September 16, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 30, 1968 in Youngstown, a daughter of Rosalie (Traino) Nolfi and the late Fred Nolfi. She graduated from Lowellville High School and went on to become a beautician and eventually a medical assistant.

Janet was truly one-of-a-kind. Her sweetness was legendary, but she was never one to sugarcoat things-if she had something to say, you’d hear it straight, whether you were ready for it or not. With a highly contagious laugh that could light up the room and a magnetic personality, she was the go-to person in any crowd. Despite her health challenges in recent years, Janet’s spirit remained unbreakable. She faced her struggles with a smile, never letting her illness overshadow her incredible zest for life. Her greatest achievement and biggest pride was being a mother and grandmother and throughout everything she was the most outstanding and selfless parent one could have. She always gave her best whether it was for a special occasion or just a simple gift to make you smile. She would always find a way to make it happen.

In addition to her mother, she leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Jena and Marisa Benzenhoefer, both of Struthers; her grandchildren, Vincent aka "Andrew," Brian Michael, and Jace; her brothers, David (Cindy Kibby) Nolfi of New Middletown and Fred (Tina Minniti) Nolfi of Lowellville; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends will be received on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland and again on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. A funeral service will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. and she will then be laid to rest at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Lowellville.
