Janet E. Hutchison

Youngstown - Janet E. Hutchison, 91, formerly of Poland, died Wednesday evening, June 25, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mrs. Hutchison was born March 24, 1923 in Greenville, PA, a daughter of Paul and Laura Saul Hurst.
Raised in Greenville, Janet was a graduate of Greenville High School and graduated from Grove City College, attending secretarial school for two years. While attending Grove City College, she met her future husband, Robert W. Hutchison. They were married on August 4, 1943 and she became a dedicated homemaker.
While Robert was serving in the United States Navy during World War II and Korea, they lived in Boston, Los Angeles, Norfolk, VA and New London, CT. After his discharge from the Navy, he was employed by Ford Motor Company as a comptroller. His job took the family to the cities of Allen Park and Farmington Hills in Michigan, Cologne, Germany, and London, England. After his retirement, they resided in Troy, Michigan and Bloomsburg, PA before relocating to Sarasota and Ocala, Florida. Robert and Janet moved to Poland in 1989 to be closer to family. Mrs. Hutchison was a resident of Park Vista Retirement Center of Youngstown since 2009.
Mrs. Hutchison was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church, Poland Garden Club, and P.E.O. In her free time, she enjoyed needlework and gardening.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband on April 9, 1994. She is survived by her daughter, Marilynn (Ray) Pavelko of Poland; two sons, Robert Hutchison of San Francisco and Bruce (Denise) Hutchison of Chicago; and five grandchildren, Casey and Rachelle Pavelko and Lauren, Cristina, and David Hutchison.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Louise McCormick; and a grandson, Robert G. Hutchison.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Poland Presbyterian Church, 2 Poland Manor. Interment will be at Poland Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
