Jane R. Philips, 92 Bessemer- Jane R. Philips, 92, of Bessemer, PA., formerly of Poland, OH., died Wednesday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mrs. Philips was born December 31, 1914, in Clanton, Alabama, a daughter of Barney McCoy and Mary Elna Sartor Roberts. She was raised in Clanton, Alabama and resided in Poland, OH., for many years before moving to Cleveland and then to Bessemer, PA. Mrs. Philips was an active member of New Life Assembly of God in Poland, OH., where she lead prayer groups and Bible studies. She was a former member of the Youngstown Club, Youngstown Country Club, and Poland Village Gardenerâa�a��s Garden Club. She was an accomplished organist and pianist and was former chairman of the Womenâa�a��s Committee for Childrenâa�a��s Concerts for the Youngstown Symphony. Mrs. Philips is survived by three daughters, Mary Jane (Joel) Beeghly, with whom she made her home in Bessemer, PA., Martha (Bill) Medhurst of Chesapeake, VA., and Dr. Barbara (Helsel) Marsh of Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. Philips was preceded in death by her husband, J. Ross Philips and one sister Helen Walker. Funeral services will be Saturday, 11:00 AM at New Life Assembly of God, Poland, OH., where friends may visit with the family from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
