Poland- Jamie Michael Serich, 17, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 6th.
Jamie was born April 3rd, 1992 in Youngstown, a son of John and Cynthia (Quattro) Serich.
He was a senior at Cardinal Mooney High School and a member of Holy Family Church. Jamie was a talented athlete and during his years at Mooney was a member of the Cross Country, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Intramural Basketball teams. His parents will cherish their memories of Jamie playing on the 10-year-old Poland Little League All-Star Ohio State Championship team and playing in the 13-year-old Pony League World Series in California.
Jamie was also a member of the National Honor Society and was an altar server for Holy Family Church. He enjoyed spending time with his many cousins and friends and was an avid video game enthusiast.
Besides his parents of Poland, Jamie leaves behind to cherish his memory, a brother, Joseph and a sister, Jaclyn (boyfriend Tom Williams), both at home; grandparents, Anthony Quattro and his wife, Mary, and William and Jeanne Serich; aunts, Barbara (Mark) Oles, Lynn (Bill) Koshut, Annette (Tim) Wiemels, Sandy (Jon Yanno) Sheehan; uncles, Anthony Quattro, Bill (Robin) Serich, and Bob Serich; a very special great aunt, Edith DeFrank; cousins, Mark, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Christina Oles, Cara and William Koshut, Bradley, Andrew and Anna Wiemels, Anthony, Gianni, and Adriana Quattro, Patrick Sheehan, Heather Land, Anthony and Tyler Serich, and Miranda and Savanah Serich.
Jamie was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anna Quattro and cousin, Catherine Wiemels.
Funeral Services will be Friday, 9:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Jamie Serich Memorial Scholarship Fund at Cardinal Mooney High School, 2545 Erie Street, Youngstown, OH 44507.
