James B. White

Enon Valley, PA - James B. White, 85, formerly of Brownlee Woods and Poland, passed peacefully Monday evening, August 31, 2015 at his home in Enon Valley.

Jim was born June 12, 1930 in Youngstown, a son of the late James and Florence Barron White.

Raised in Brownlee Woods, he was a 1948 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. In 1951, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict, until his honorable discharge in 1955. While enlisted with the Air Force, he attended Oklahoma University. On December 26, 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, the former Norma J. Cousins, while he was on leave. Jim and Norma moved to Poland several years after his discharge.

In 1970, Jim, along with his wife and children, moved from Poland to Enon Valley. They established Highland Meadows Farm, a thoroughbred horse farm, which they operated together for over 40 years.

Jim worked as a district manager for Prudential Insurance for 23 years prior to founding his own company, Professional Risk Management. He operated the company until his retirement in 1997.

He was a former member of Hillman Street Christian Church, where he served as a deacon for many years, and was a current member of Westfield Presbyterian Church in Mount Jackson. Jim had a passion for playing golf and was well respected in the golf community. He also served as past director of the Tippecanoe Country Club.

His wife, Norma, of 62 years, preceded him in death on April 12, 2014. Jim is survived by his daughter, Traci (Ron) Blasko of Poland; son, Dr. Brad (Debbie) White of Enon Valley; four grandchildren, Joshua (Jocelyn) White, Tyler (Becca) White, Jake Blasko, and Mandi Blasko; and three great-grandsons, Bobby, Trevor, and Tanner.
A man who was admired and loved by so many, Jim will always be remembered as man with a great sense of humor, as a genuine family man, a well respected and honest businessman, and for his generosity to so many.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Reese and Connie Madeline; and a brother, Joseph White.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Westfield Presbyterian Church, 1363 Mt. Jackson Rd., New Castle, PA 16102. Interment will be at Westfield Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Friends will be received Saturday from 9-10:45 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.
