James V. Taylor, 81 Struthers- James V. Taylor, 81, of 403 Geneva Street died Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mr. Taylor was born May 15, 1922 in Franklin, Kentucky, a son of Willie Herschel and Martha Miller Taylor. He lived in Kentucky until moving to this area in 1946. He was Superintendent of Electrical Maintenance for Republic Steel Corporation retiring in 1980 after 34 years of service. He was a 1940 graduate of Barnes High School, Franklin Kentucky, and attended Transylvania and the University of Kentucky. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member the R.S.S.R.C., the Coitsville V.F.W. Post #7600, a member of Western Star Lodge #21 and the Aut Mori Grotto. He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed spending time with his family. His wife the former Minnellia Jane Lepley whom he married August 19, 1944 died April 29, 1997. He leaves two daughters, Jeanie (Dick) Shirra of Moon Township and Susan (Tom) Trepac of Columbiana; one sister, Katherine Brown of Gallatin, Tennessee and one sister-in-law, Virginia Taylor of Franklin, Kentucky; five granddaughters, Peggy Shirra, Melissa Weber, Susan Dolan, Tammy Deeb and Amanda Trepac and two great-grandsons, Caleb Deeb and Tyler Dolan. Besides his parents and wife, one sister, Oma Roberts, one brother, Lee Taylor and one brother-in-law Gilbert Brown preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 PM where a Masonic service will be held at 8:00 PM. Memorial tributes may go to the American Cancer Society.
