James John Simerlink,80 Poland-James John Simerlink,80, died Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mr. Simerlink was born in Youngstown December 22,1925, a son of Andrew and Elizabeth Janitor Simerlink. He was a graduate of South High School in 1942. He was a Youngstown Police Officer for 28 years, before retiring in 1980. He had previously worked at Republic Steel. Mr. Simerlink was a member of Saint Dominic Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 28. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He leaves his wife, the former, Ella (Pat) Klusener, whom he married June 1,1945 in Long Beach,CA; two daughters, Lori (Gary David) Broderick of Boardman and Sandra (Ronald ) Ambrosia of Canfield; a son, James L. (Elaine) Simerlink of Indio,CA; two brothers, John Simerlink of Boardman and David(Rita) Simerlink of Youngstown;8 grandchildren, Dr.Erin Broderick, Jordan Broderick; Dr. Ronald (Julie) Ambrosia; LaDonna Horton; Andrea (Jeff) Brindley;Doug (Katy) Simerlink; Daniel Simerlink; and Melissa (Carlos) DeLaRiva; and 6 great-grandchildren,Chayce Horton, Morgan and Ronald Ambrosia III; Jakob and Alexis Brindley; and Lexi DeLaRiva. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew, George, Mitch, and Thomas Simerlink. There will be a private memorial service at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
