James Louis Shively, 60 Boardman- James Louis Shively, 60, of 5624 Southern Blvd., died Monday afternoon at his sonâa�a��s residence in Struthers. Mr. Shively was born December 31, 1941 in Alliance, a son of William and Helen McGrath Shively. He has lived in the Youngstown area for the past 35 years. He worked for John Calvin Fire Protection in Youngstown, refurbishing and servicing fire extinguishers for over 10 years. Mr. Shively was a 30- year volunteer for the Mahoning Chapter of the American Red Cross. He was very active in its safety division as a First Aid and CPR Instructor. As head of many Red Cross First Aid Stations, he was best known for his work at the Canfield Fair. In the 1980âa�a��s, during his leadership, the Red Cross Youth Group won many state and national awards. Besides his wife the former Betty Shively Weddle with whom he married in 1965, he leaves two sons, James Louis II (Cathy) Shively of Struthers and Timothy John (Michelle) Shively of Manassas, Virginia; one sisters, Carol Ann Culp of Salem; two brothers, Ronald (Mary Lou) Shively of Salem, Gordon (Tracy) Shively of Struthers and seven grandchildren. One brother, William Burdell Jr., and a sister Juanita Kelly preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Saturday, 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
