Struthers - James P. Rosenberg, 73 of Campbell, died Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Jim, known to his friends as "Roe",was born October 29, 1937 in Youngstown, a son of John and Mary Canavan Rosenberg.
A 1955 graduate of The Rayen School, Jim was a machinist for Youngstown Sheet & Tube, LTV and then Commercial Intertech retiring in the year 2000 after 45 years of service. In 1958 when the Youngstown Sheet & Tube went on strike, Jim enlisted in the United States Army, and served in Germany.
An avid golfer, Jim was proud of his Hole-in-One at Mill Creek Golf Course in July of 1991. He was also a member of various bowling leagues and bocce leagues in the area and enjoyed his trips to Mountaineer. Jim was one of the founding members of the Cameo Club, a social club in Youngstown. Jim's greatest joy was his family. He and Violet were very fortunate to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary last year with a party and a family vacation to Garden City, South Carolina, one of many family vacations.
Besides his wife, the former Violet Casal, whom he married June 4, 1960, he leaves three daughters, Sandy Walters and Nancy Stoddard both of Poland, and Leslie (TJ) Creed of Struthers; one son, James (Donna) Rosenberg Jr. of Poland; one sister, Joan Smith of VA; and nine grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) Walters, Ryan and Eric Walters, Nicole, Natalie, and Allison Stoddard, Alexis Benedis, and Olivia Rosenberg.
Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, John "Jack" Rosenberg.
Services will be held Friday, 11:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with ?? officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Lowellville, Ohio.
Friends will be received Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
