Boardman - James Edward Ogram, 87, of Boardman, formerly of Poland, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Ron Joy Nursing Home.
Mr. Ogram was born June 27, 1922 in Youngstown, a son of Jay and Florence McFetrich Ogram.
He was a 1940 graduate of South High School and attended the Ohio State University receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Ogram worked as a Manager of Quality Control for Commercial Shearing Inc. in Youngstown and Butler, Indiana for 24 years, retiring in September of 1982.
He was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church, the Quality Control Association, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He enjoyed reading, particularly about cars and planes, and playing golf.
A United States Navy Veteran, Mr. Ogram served during World War II and the Korean Conflict as a naval pilot.
He leaves his wife, the former Gloria S. Granito, whom he married September 4, 1954; two daughters, Lynda (Robert) Youmans of Stanfordville, NY and Cathy Ogram of Norfolk, VA; and two grandsons, Jay and Drew Youmans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Melvin, Gordon, and Robert Ogram.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at noon at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, where family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mr. Ogram's name to Angels for Animals, 4750 State Route 165, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
