Struthers - James R. Miller, Jr., 59, formerly of Campbell, died unexpectedly on June 13, 2018 at his home.
Jimmy was born June 1, 1959 in Youngstown, a son of James R. and Maryann (Schur) Miller, Sr.
A lifelong area resident, Jimmy was a 1977 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving on the USS America until his honorable discharge in 1981. Jimmy returned to the area and began his career of more than 30 years with the United States Postal Service. He worked as a mail handler in the downtown Youngstown office and retired as a supervisor in 2012.
In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, working on cars, but especially enjoyed watching western movies. In his retirement years, Jimmy loved his daily morning visits with his dad. He also loved animals and enjoyed companionship from his cat Chevy.
In addition to his father, James of Campbell, Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Jessica Miller; brother, John "Jack" Miller of Campbell; sister, Cheryl (Jonathan) Woodward of Campbell; one niece; three nephews; and three great-nephews and one great-niece.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother.
A private graveside service was held for the family at St. Michael's Byzantine Cemetery, Campbell.
