James P. McGuire

James P. McGuire, 81 Lowellville- James P. McGuire, 81, of 678 Cooper Ave., died Friday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mr. McGuire was born May 8, 1923 in Lexington, Kentucky, a son of Stonewall Jackson and Zella Decker McGuire. He was raised in Lexington and moved to Youngstown in 1941 and later resided in Lowellville. For over 35 years he was a brakeman for Republic Steel. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, and Lowellville Senior Citizens. He enjoyed hunting. Besides his wife the former Josephine M. Genova, whom he married in 1949, he leaves one daughter, Darlene J. (Gary) Flesher of Lowellville; one step-son, Phil (Ann) Wyatt of North Carolina; one sister, Violet (Hubert) Hawkins; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, one son, James McGuire; 5 sisters and 4 brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Monday, 10:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville and 10:30 AM at Holy Rosary Church. Friends may call Sunday from 5-7PM and Monday from 9-10 AM at the funeral home.
