Jensen Beach, FL - James R. McAuley, 83, of Jensen Beach, Florida, formerly of North Lima, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 9th at Hospice House with family at his side.
Jim was born March 23, 1926 in Youngstown, a son of Jean A. and Rev. H.C. McAuley, founding pastor of BrownleeWoods Presbyterian Church from 1916 - 1952.
He was a 1944 graduate of Wilson High School and enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in World War II. Returning home, he attended Miami University and graduated in 1952. He was a North Lima, Ohio businessman, establishing Alprod in 1962 and porch 'n patio in 1972.
Jim was a member of the Fonderlac Country Club since its inception where he played golf with the famous F Troop. He enjoyed his three pet donkeys, Radar, Dolly, and Sweet Pea.
He is survived by two sons, Bill (Kathy) McAuley and Jeff (Donna) McAuley all of Poland; four grandchildren, Bonnie, Kimberlee, Amanda, and Jeffrey; and long time loving partner, Irene Jones of Enon Valley, PA.
Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; and three brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20th at 12:00 Noon at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mr. McAuley's name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
