James M. Baker, 79 POLAND- James M. Baker, 79, of 3046 Algonquin died Sunday morning at his residence. He was born in Youngstown January 17, 1924, a son of Michael and Margaret Ford Baker. He was a lifelong area resident, spending the winters in Florida. Mr. Baker was a 1942 graduate of Struthers High School and he graduated from Youngstown College with a Bachelor Degree in Business. He was Marketing Representative for Sun Oil for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. James was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corp. He was a F & AM Hillman Lodge 481 and Scottish Rite 32nd Degree. He served on the Lake Park Cemetery Board and was a member of Faith Community Church, formerly Bethlehem United Church of Christ. He leaves his wife, the former, Janet Hamilton, whom he married in 1950; one daughter, Terry (Steve) Dix of Chillicothe, OH; one son, James (Janice) Baker of Boardman; one sister, Joan (David) Sopko of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Christopher and Gregory Baker and Bethany and Lindsey Dix; and one cousin, Jean (Kenneth) King of Boardman. Funeral Services will be Wednesday 11 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 PM and Wednesday 10:00-10:45AM at the funeral home.
