James C. Lewis Sr., 84
YOUNGSTOWN - Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman for James C. Lewis Sr., 84. He passed away Monday at his home.
Mr. Lewis was born May 29, 1928, in Poland, a son of Donald and Elma Puska Lewis.
He had worked for Ohio Edison.
Jim was full of life, but in a simple way. He loved his family more than anything, and it made his day when he knew all of the kids and grandkids were happy and healthy. It was icing on the cake for Jim if the Tribe, Browns or Buckeyes won their games, and you didn't have to ask him twice to play a round of golf or to go fishing. A life fulfilled, and a man truly loved by all.
He is survived by his wife, the former Donna Jenkins, whom he married March 19, 1949; two daughters, Mary Beth DeLuco of Canfield and Amy (Rick) Stanovcak of Canfield; five sons, James (Jeanette) Lewis, Jr. and John (Pasty) Lewis both of Houston, Donald (Ann) Lewis of Boardman, David (Thrina) Lewis of Todd, N.C., and Daniel Lewis of Canfield; a brother, Rev. Dean (Trudy) Lewis of Alliance; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald.
Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Good Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 98 Homestead Drive, Boardman, OH 44512 or the donor's choice of charity.
