James Wesley Leetch

May 26, 1957 — September 13, 2016

Five Guys lost a loyal patron on September 13, 2016. James Wesley Leetch passed away due to complications from Huntington’s disease (HD), a hereditary degenerative neurological disease which doctors often describe as having Alzheimer’s, ALS and Parkinson’s diseases simultaneously.

Jim, the only child of James H. and Donelda (Heyer) Leetch, grew up in Girard an avid golfer, at nearby Mahoning Country Club where he earned his first hole in one.

Jim attended Youngstown State University on scholarship as a member of YSU’s golf team. Thanks to the mentoring of Bernie Kosar, Sr., Jim majored in Industrial Engineering; immediately followed by earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Prior to the cognitive impairment of HD; Jim held the title of the Global Facilities Forecast Manager after a 27 year career at Packard Electric later becoming Delphi Automotive Systems. Jim took great pride in assisting in the design, development and manufacturing of automobiles.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his loving cat, Mouser. He is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn and their sweet cat, Nordie.

A private service was held at Hospice House with Carolyn’s head on his shoulder and Jim’s favorite peanut brittle making friend by his side.
