Boardman - James Langenheim, 83 of Boardman, died September 19, 2015 in the comfort of his home. He was born April 26, 1932 in Youngstown, son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Lawson Langenheim.
He was employed as a pipe fitter for US Steel for 28 years and with GM Lordstown for 16 years, retiring in 1996. James was a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church and a former 50 year member of Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church.
He leaves his loving wife, Hattie Langenheim, whom he married on March 22, 1958; his daughter, Debra (Roland Oddera) Langenheim of Boardman; son, Gregory (Kara) Langenheim of New Tazwell, TN; sister, Betty J. Foley of Boardman; two grandsons, Brandon and Chase Langenheim; three granddaughters, Elizabeth, Courtney and Cheryl Vaughn; 7 great grandchildren; numerous niece and nephews and he was blessed in life with two special people, Cheryl and David Downey, whom he thought of as a son and daughter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Annabelle Smart, Alberta Leckburg, Esther Crowl and Ruth Ripple; and his brothers, Robert, Jack, Charles and William Langenheim.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11am at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home 270 N. Main St. Poland, with Pastor Kristin Stroble officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5-7pm at the funeral home and prior to the service on Wednesday from 10-10:45am at the funeral home.
