James Oliver Kepler, 82, died September 22, 2018 at Greenbriar. Mr. Kepler was born March 30, 1936 in Goodrich, Tx, a son of John and Catherine Romaine Pressel Kepler.
“Jimmy” or “Kep” as many lovingly referred to him, retired from Canteen Services where he had a long career and made many friends. He met his wife Lola at Canteen and they had two children Mathew J. Kepler of Struthers and Hollie Kepler of Colorado. He is also survived by his daughter Heather (Phillip) Rose of Akron and their two children Phillip and Brandon, and two brothers, Thomas (Gloria) Kepler and Dan , both of York, PA. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Lola K. Kepler; his brother John Kepler; and one sister, Jean Arvin. He resided at Greenbriar Health Care Center for several years where he made many friends. A special thank you is given to his nurse “Karri who cared beyond her nursing duties and became a friend and Rachael and Pat from Southern Care Hospice, all who helped him find his faith again. He enjoyed his talks with Karri and Chaplin Pat and loved to attend the Poland Baptist services with Rachael.
Jim was known for his sense of humor and was quite the “jokester.” He loved being with people and kept small gifts to share with others. He had a passion for the Steelers, loved to garden, and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. Jim served his country in the United States Army. A service for friends, family and residents will be held at Greenbriar Tuesday September 25th, at 3:00 to honor his life.
