James T. Dolas

James T. Dolas, 80 Poland- James T. Dolas, 80, of Poland, died Wednesday evening at Hampton Woods Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Dolas was born March 31, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Anna Rufus Dolas. He resided in Youngstown until moving to Poland in 1953. For 29 years, he was a finisher for Metal Carbides retiring in 1987. Mr. Dolas was a United States Army Veteran from 1945 until 1947 having served in both Germany and France. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Mr. Dolas loved opera and jazz and the outdoors, though his greatest joy were his grandsons, Steven and Jimmi. He is survived by his wife, the former Effie Copoulos, whom he married May 6, 1951; one daughter, Annie Angeline (Steve) Hross of Poland; one sister, Elizabeth Kassaras of Poland; two grandchildren, Jimmi and Steven Hross; one sister-in-law, Maria Copoulos of Long Island, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Dolas was preceded in death by an infant brother; one grandson, Seth Hross; two brother-in-laws, John Kassaras and Constantine Copoulos; and one sister-in-law, Angeline Ahladis. Funeral services will be Monday, 11:15 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 12:00 Noon at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home in Poland.
