Cortland - James F. deGuzman, Jr., 62, formerly of Boardman, passed away unexpectedly December 9, 2012.
Jim was born November 27, 1950 in Brooklyn , NY, a son of James and Katherine Desmond deGuzman. He lived in Brooklyn until 1966 when he and his family moved to New Cumberland, PA and later moved to the Youngstown area in 1981.
He was a graduate of Trinity High School in Camp Hill, PA and was drafted into the United States Army shortly after graduation, serving for four years. While living in PA, he worked for Town and Country and retired from the sales department of AP Parts Company in Ohio. After retirement, he operated his own online sales business. For the last ten years, he has been employed by and resided with Dr. Toni Marcheskie as a caretaker for her two sons, Michael and Mark Fronk.
An avid sports fan, Jim volunteered for many years coaching youth sports, including his daughter Leigh's teams. He enjoyed cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles and loved going to watch football games at Notre Dame.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Leigh deGuzman of Boardman; and two brothers, Daniel (Patricia) deGuzman of New Cumberland, PA and Timothy deGuzman of Mechanicsburg, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Duff.
There will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are being handled by the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman.
