James âa�A"Scottyâa�A� Burns, 92 LOWELLVILLE âa�" A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Struthers Presbyterian Church for James âa�A"Scottyâa�A� Burns, 92, of Lowellville who passed Tuesday morning at Hospice House. Mr. Burns was born Nov. 2, 1914 in Beckley, West Virginia, a son of John and Mary Jasper Burns and came to this area as a child. Mr. Burns was a crane operator for Sharon Steel and retired in 1977 from the GATX Corporation. He was a member of the church and a member of the former Lowellville Presbyterian Church where he served as a trustee, an elder and taught the Adult Sunday School. He was a 1933 graduate of Lowellville High School, a member of the Lowellville Golf League and as an avid golfer he was rewarded with two holes in one. He was a World War II Navy veteran serving as a radar specialist in the South Pacific. He is survived by his wife the former Doris Arp DeLucia, whom he married July 18, 1964; a daughter, Bonnie (William) DeLisio of Avon, Ohio; two sons, James K. (Bette) Burns of Ft. Bragg, Calif and Jerry (Judy) Burns of Boardman; a step daughter, Janet DeLucia of Lakewood; a step daughter in law Joan DeLucia of Boardman; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters and 5 brothers; and a step son, John DeLucia Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice of the Valley and their caring staff at Hospice House. The family request that material contributions be made to Hospice of The Valley.
