Struthers - James Joseph Bonish, 59, of Struthers, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Jim was born June 30, 1949 in Youngstown, a son of Joe and Veronica Liptak Bonish, Sr. He was a 1967 graduate of Struthers High School and worked as a supervisor for the Eastern Region Fleet of Ohio Edison for 36 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. Jim was a United States Army veteran serving during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion in Massillon. His wife, the former Rebecca Marshall, whom he married January 11, 1975 died January 7, 1999. He leaves two sisters, Jane (James) Vergallito and Joanne Bonish, both of Struthers; one brother, Jack Bonish also of Struthers; his companion, Judi Hradil of Austintown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Bonish, Jr. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers and 10 a.m. at the St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church.
