Boardman- Jack D. Johnson, 78, died Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Jack was born January 1, 1938 in Youngstown, a son of Nels and Orpha Snyder Johnson.

He was a 1956 graduate of Boardman High School. Jack worked at SKF Industries and was owner of Antiques on Market Street.

Jack and his wife, Joyce, were active members at Bethel Friends Church in Poland singing on the praise team in the choir. In earlier years, they sang in a Gospel Quartet, "The Duplicators". Jack and Joyce were avid fans of travel and were "celebrities" on cruise ships. When they weren't traveling, they enjoyed watching and supporting their grandchildren's various activities.

He is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Joyce Johnson (Niemiec), whom he married March 9, 1959. They have three daughters; Janet (Dr. James) Haynes of Columbia, SC, Joan (Mark) Alessandrini of Boston, MA, and Jacqui (Jack) Zocolo of Boardman; nine grandchildren, Kristin, Brooke, Scott, Diane, Andrew, Christopher, Kenny, Chloe and Dominic; and two great grandchildren, Emmie and Zack.

Friends and family will be received Saturday from 11:00AM-12:50PM, followed by a memorial service at 1:00PM at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, with Rev. Cynthia Adcock and Pastor Bobby Murphy officiating.
