J. Gordon Millard Poland- J. Gordon Millard, 75, of Indian Trail, died Thursday afternoon at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mr. Millard was born June 3, 1931 in Youngstown, a son of James C. and Frances Yaskey Millard. He lived in Youngstown until moving to Poland in 1945. He was a 1949 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and received his BA in Flora culture from Ohio State University in 1953. He served in the United States Naval Reserves from 1954 until 1955. From 1960 until 1978, Mr. Millard was owner and operator of Millardâa�a��s Greenhouse and Garden Center in the Village of Poland where Towne One stands today. He was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church where he was an ordained Elder and Deacon, and member of the former Gyros Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Poland Masonic Lodge F&AM #766, board member of both the Poland Cemetery Association and Fonderlac Country Club where he was former Vice President of the Stockholder Board. An avid golfer, Mr. Millard was a member of the F Troop Golf League of the Fonderlac Country Club. He loved gardening and in his younger days enjoyed boating and water skiing. Mr. Millard is survived by his wife, the former Betty Szush whom he married June 14, 1952; one daughter, Linda (Jim) Penney of Poland; two sons, Dr. Clifford (Signe) Millard of Sioux City, Iowa and Daniel Millard of Youngstown; one brother, Howard (Mary Ellen) Millard of Boardman; and four grandchildren, Nicole Millard, Phillip Millard and Jeffrey and Jocelyn Penney. Funeral services will be Saturday, 4:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home. Friends may call Saturday, from 2:00 PM until 3:45 PM at the funeral home.
