Ivan Prine, Sr., 83 Petersburg- Ivan Prine, Sr., 83, of Garfield Road, died early Saturday morning at his residence. Mr. Prine was born February 21, 1924, in Poland, a son of Ira Lee and Bertha Ellen Benington Prine. He was raised in Poland and in 1953 moved to Petersburg. Mr. Prine was a truck driver for Boardman Supply for 22 years retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II from December 12, 1942 until February 6, 1946. Mr. Prine was a member of the VFW Post 2799 in New Springfield. His wife, the former Clara R. Luther, whom he married October 10, 1946, died November 9, 2002. He leaves three daughters, Brenda Gardner at home, Janet Merryman and Joyce Constance both of Austintown; one son, Ivan Prine, Jr., of Warren; one sister, Violet Hiner of Akron; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Prine was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Barnhart, Dolores Vaselcheck, and Beatrice Olas, four brothers, Ralph, Herman, Gilbert, and Emmet Prine, and one grandson, Ed Fowler.
