Isabel Fay Palmer

Struthers - Isabel Fay Palmer, 79 of Struthers, died March 13, 2009 at St. Marys Alzheimer's Center in Columbiana. Mrs. Palmer was born August 23, 1929 in Lowellville, a daughter of Oliver and Cleo Schweite Gibboney. She was a life long area resident. Mrs. Palmer was a homemaker. She was a founding member of the Boardman Christian Church and a member of the Struthers VFW Post 3538. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling and collecting the 50 state commemorative quarters. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her husband Raymond Palmer whom she married August 24, 1946, died December 13, 1987. She leaves one son Robert Palmer of Coitsville; three daughters, Lorrie (Charles) Philbrick of Canfield, Martha (Clyde) Denmeade of Madison, OH, and Penny (William) Tilton of Denton, Tx;; one brother, Hugh "Skip" Gibboney of Virginia Beach; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, George âa�A"Russâa�A�, Lloyd, Ralph, Orie, and Walter Gibboney and one sister, Ruth Heasley. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 21, at 11:00 at the Struthers VFW, post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers.
