Youngstown - Irma G. Kaminsky, 93, of Youngstown, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mrs. Kaminsky was born November 6, 1914 in Lemont, PA, a daughter of William and Helen Malarick Ferencak. She was a life-long area resident. Mrs. Kaminsky was a receptionist at Northside Hospital in the 1950's and 60's and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Matthias Church and St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Kaminsky was a multi-talented woman who valued education and taught much about life to her daughters. She was an avid reader, loved playing golf, cooking, sewing, and traveling. Her husband, whom she married October 28, 1933, preceded her in death on December 9, 1984. She leaves her daughter, Pamela (John) Docherty of Kent, OH; five granddaughters, Karen Phillips of Tucson, AZ, Janet (James) Bartell of Austintown, Patricia (Barry) Gibson of Key West, FL, Barbara Maker of Campbell, OH, and Susan (Dan) McLaughlin of San Francisco, CA; one grandson, David Kanna of Cincinnati, OH; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Camperelli; her sister, Helena DelBone; and her brother, Irvie Ferencak. Funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where a prayer service will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Kaminsky's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
