Boardman - Irene M. Schmid, 81, of Boardman, died Wednesday morning, April 20, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Schmid was born June 6, 1929 in Munich, Germany, a daughter of Josef and Katharina Bluml. She moved to the United States in 1947 after meeting her husband who was serving in the United States Army during World War II.
Mrs. Schmid worked for many years in sales for the former Village Dress Shop in the Boardman Plaza.
Her husband, Adolf Schmid, whom she married June 10, 1947, died August 23, 1992. She leaves her three sons, Robert Schmid of Dallas, TX, Roger (Kathy) Schmid, and Randy (Patty) Schmid, both of Boardman; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Bluml.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
