Irene D Fedoruk

Boardman - Irene D. Fedoruk, 90, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. She was born April 17, 1926 in Youngstown, daughter of late Joseph and Katherine Vallus.

Irene was a member of Holy Name Church and a member of the Ladies Catholic Slovak Society. She had a great sense of humor and had a very quick wit. Irene was unable to have children of her own so with great love, she adopted her daughters, Laura and Lynn. She was also an animal lover and adopted many stray animals over the years. Irene will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

She leaves her two daughters, Laura (Tarick) Bernat of Boardman and Lynn (Ken) Schreffler of Macedonia, OH; her former son-in-law, James Stafford Jr.; four grandchildren, James Stafford, III, Lisa (William) Boxler, Samantha Fox and Brandy Fox and one great grandchild, Annabella Huffman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Fedoruk in 2003; her brothers, Ed and Joe Vallus and Bob Chumra; and her sisters, Theresa Duffy, Margaret Gallo, Kay Shabella, Mary Thomas and Ann Tumpak.

Funeral services will be Friday at 7pm at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. Boardman with the Rev. Fr. John Jerek officiating.

Friends will be received prior to the service from 6-6:45pm on Friday in the funeral home.

Flowers are beautiful, however the family asks that any donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrott Rd. Poland, OH 44514 or to an animal charity of your choice.
