Irene G. âa�A"Auntie Iâa�A� Eppley, 94 Poland- Irene G. Eppley, 94, passed away peacefully from congestive heart failure, at her home Saturday evening, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Eppley was born March 26, 1912 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Helen Tomori Gecse. She was raised in Campbell and lived in Middlefield, Ohio before moving to Poland 41 years ago. She attended Campbell Memorial High School and for over 35 years, she and her husband Robert, owned and operated Eppley Products, a rubber manufacturing company in Middlefield. Mrs. Eppley was a member of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church in Youngstown where she was a former member of the choir, Sunshine Club, Christian Endeavor and Protestant Women. She also did volunteer work for Geauga Hospital. Mrs. Eppley affectionately known as âa�A"Auntie Iâa�A� was a wonderful cook, sister and aunt. Her husband Robert J. Eppley whom she married, May 16, 1946, died July 5, 1955. She leaves two sisters, who were her caregivers, Olga Diaz and Julia Gott who made their home with her; one brother, John Getchey of Boardman; four nephews, both Robert Diaz of Poland, and Norbert Diaz of Washington, DC, whom she helped raise, John R. Getchey of Boardman and Robert Gott of Dallas, Texas; three nieces, Karen Joseph and Carol Davis both of Boardman, and Susan Watson of Warren; eight great nieces, three great nephews; and two great-great-nieces. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Eppley was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Getchey and an infant son. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10:00 AM at the Hungarian Presbyterian Church. Friends may call Monday, from 5-8 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM at the church.
