Poland - Irene E. Carrocce, 101, of Poland, died Thursday afternoon, August 16, 2018 at her residence.

Irene was born October 24, 1916 in Youngstown, a daughter of Dominic and Mary Morjock Sugar.

Raised in Lowellville, Irene was a graduate of Lowellville High School, Class of 1935 and attended Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a secretary and treasurer for her husband's company, Ralph Carrocce Trucking Inc., her entire married life. She was a member of Holy Family Church and the Ladies Circle. Irene lived life the way she wanted. She was very protective of her family and will be remembered for her strong will and generosity.

Her husband Ralph, whom she married November 19, 1936, died April 8, 2008. She leaves one son, Gary (Lucinda) Carrocce of Canfield; daughter-in-law, Debbie Carrocce of Canfield; eight grandchildren, Mark (Sharon) Carrocce, Troy (Melissa) Carrocce, Kevin (Allison) Carrocce, Tiffany Carrocce, Eric Glass, Joshua and Justin Horn, and Dawna Rappach; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Carrocce; daughter, Barbara Carrocce; four sisters; and three brothers.

Per Irene's wishes there will be no calling hours and the Memorial Mass will be private. Interment will be at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.

The Carrocce family would like to thank her caregivers, of many years, Gail Moore and Cindy "Chrissy" Burnette and Hospice of the Valley for the compassionate care given to Irene.
