Irene Bosko, 90

Boardman:  Irene Bosko, 90, passed away Wednesday morning, June 12, 2019 at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House with her loving family by her side.

Irene was born November 22, 1928 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine (Tekach) Garasky.

She graduated from East High School in 1947 and was a lifelong area resident.

Irene was a member of Faith Community Covenant Church since 1956. She served as Deaconess as well as church secretary for many years, Church treasurer from 1971 to 2017, as well as a bookkeeper for several local businesses in the area.

Irene is survived by two daughters, Janet K. (Daniel ) Miller of Dublin, Karen J. Hoover of Boardman; and a daughter, Lora J. Cooper, who died April 22, 2019; a son-in-law, Steve C. Cooper of Boardman; five grandchildren, Jessica (Dominique) Louis, Amanda Hoover, Larissa (Matthew) Brogley, Kyle Miller and Hannah Miller.

Besides her parents and daughter, Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John Bosko, whom she married on March 12, 1949 in California, died, November 8, 1977; four brothers, Steve Garasky, John Garasky, Joseph Garasky, and Daniel Garasky; four sisters Katherine Smith, Ann Ramunno, Helen Burns, and Mary Tsvetanoff.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Community Covenant Church, 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd. in Youngstown with Reverend Michael Zabel officiating. Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Angels for Animal, 4750 State Route 165, Canfield, OH, 44406 in memory of Irene.

Irene was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family. She leaves a legacy of fabulous baking skills of pies and the "infamous" cookies she would bake and make trays for loved ones and friends. Irene was devoted to her Bella and also to her cat family and her friend's cats.
