Lowellville - Ida Lois Kilgore, 83 of Lowellville, died Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman, with her family at her side.
Mrs. Kilgore was born February 28, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of Clint and Luona Sutphin Jones.
She was a 1944 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, and a member of the Hillsville Methodist Church. During World War II, she worked for General Electric as a stem maker. Following the war she a homemaker, then worked for American Paper Products, retiring in 1984 after 20 years. She loved to spend time with her two children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She loved to read and to do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, and her lifelong friend Mary Dunchak.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Chester Kilgore whom she married March 20, 1948, one son Tim (Terri) Kilgore of Lordstown, one daughter Debbie Smith of Springfield, OH; Six grandchildren Todd (Barbara) Kilgore of Gaithersburg, MD, Matthew (Karie) Kilgore of Towson, MD, Brian Smith of Springfield OH, Jodi (Aaron) Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Stacie Kilgore of Lordstown, Trace Kilgore of Lordstown, 5 Great-Grandchildren, Michael Kilgore, Karisa Kilgore, Phaedra Smith, Tristan Smith and Dagny Smith ; one brother, Glen (Cathy) Jones of Columbus, three sisters Mary Phenicie of Edinburg, Barbara (Vincent) Mariotte of Lowellville and Beatrice (Cliff) Householder of Homosassa, FL; two sisters-in-law, Anita Jones of Boardman, and Beej Jones of North Lima, She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Clint Jones, Donald Jones and Charles Jones, and two sisters, Margaret Gliemmo and Geraldine Flesch.
Services will be held at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, Sunday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Randy Crum, officiating.
Friends will be received Sunday from 12:00 pm to 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
