Lowellville - Ida Mae Beggs, 85, of Lowellville, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Caprice Health Center. Mrs. Beggs was born August 11, 1923 in Amsbury, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John and Stella Cox Gorman. She worked as a secretary and clerk for Youngstown Foundry and Machine Company now Wean United for 40 years, retiring in 1991. She was a former member of Lowellville United Methodist Church and a member of the Shrine of Bethlehem and the Eastern Star. Her husband, Ralph E. Beggs, whom she married January 22, 1949, died August 10, 1953. She leaves her daughter, Roberta (Chris) Tornello of Youngstown; two sons, Gerald (Holly) Gorman of Wauseon and John (Theresa) Beggs of Boardman; a brother, John (Shirley) Gorman of Sycamore, IL; 11 grandchildren, Chris (Rebecca) Manion of Hubbard, Melissa Manion of Hubbard, Eric Manion of Las Vegas, Chris (Paige) Gorman of State College, PA, Shawn Gorman of Cartersville, GA, Patrick Gorman of Marietta, GA, Ryan Gorman of Wauseon, John (Lori) Beggs of Austintown, Erin (Ted) Conway of Boardman, Matt Beggs of Austintown, and Terrie (Jason) Fabian of Lowellville; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville. Interment will follow at Lowellville Cemetery.
