Poland - H. Thomas "Tom" Hoffman, 74, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in the comfort of his home with his family by his side, following a 32 year battle with heart disease. He was born June 30, 1942 in Lowellville, son of the late Vernon and Agnes Hackett Hoffman.
He was a 1960 graduate of Lowellville High School and went on to attend Youngstown State University for two years. Tom was employed with Lowellville Bank which later became Sky Bank where he retired in 2000 as Vice President, following 40 years of employment. He was a member of the former Struthers Presbyterian Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who affectionately called him Ampa.
He leaves his wife, Saundra Davis Hoffman, whom he married on August 5, 1972; two sons, Jason Hoffman of Lowellville and Joshua (Amy) Hoffman of Struthers; grandchildren, Hannah, Derek and Haley; his mother-in-law, Viola Davis and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hoffman; his sister, Gayle Butch, and his beloved cat, Charger.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11am at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. Boardman, with Pastor Nathan Doyle officiating. Interment will follow in Lowellville Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2pm-5pm and Monday from 10-10:45am at the funeral home.
