Howard E. Tessean, 81, of Poland died Sunday, September 7, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center.
Mr. Tessean was born Oct. 14, 1932, a son of Howard and Louise Schmidt Tessean.
Howard was 1951 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and was a carpenter for Goal Inc. for 50 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a member St. Charles Catholic Church and the Carpenters Union Local #171.
Howard was a United States Army veteran serving from 1953-1955. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, carpentry, going to Mountaineer, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former, Lillian Marinak, whom he married May 26, 1956 at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church; five children, Louise (Jeff) Maher of Wadsworth, David Tessean of Boardman, Charlene Tessean of Poland, Linda (Donald) McDonough of Struthers, and Shawn (Jeannine) Tessean of Parma; seven grandchildren, Patrick(Youngju),Jennifer, Shannon, Dawn(Jon), Emily, Madelyn, and Jonathan.
Besides his parents, Howard was preceded in death by one brother, William Tessean.
A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday at 10AM at St. Charles Catholic Church, with Fr. Gerald DeLucia officiating. Burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received one hour prior to Mass at the church.
