Austintown - Howard Austin, 98, of Austintown died Tuesday evening, March 3, 2015 at Humility House.
Howard was born April 26, 1916 in Wheeling Junction, WV, a son of William and Maude Dailey Austin. He was raised in Poland and resided in Boardman for over 50 years.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II.
Howard worked at the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company, Brier Hill Plant for 30 years.
His wife, the former Elsie Irene Mansfield, whom he married September 7, 1940 died March 1, 2008. He is survived by one daughter, Carole Jean Kosa of Youngstown; two sons, Howard Eugene Austin of Youngstown and David Wayne (Diane) Austin of Canfield; and one grandson, William Charles (Julia) Schwartz of West Middlesex, PA;
Besides his parents, Howard was preceded in death by one brother, James Austin; and three sisters, Helen Stock, Thelma Anderson, and Alice Ackerman; .
Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
Friends will be received Friday from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
