Struthers - Herman A. "Johnny" Wiesensee, Jr., 73, of Struthers, died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Hospice House. Herman was born November 11, 1935 in Bronx, New York, a son of Herman A. and Marie Korda Wiesensee, Sr. Herman worked as a Youngstown Firefighter for over 18 years. In 1971, he received the Life Saving Award for rescuing three children. He was a member of the Retired Firemen's Association Chapter 10. He was also a member of the NRA and enjoyed collecting guns and attending gun shows and military shows. He was a United States Army Veteran Serving during the Korean War. He leaves his wife, the former Beverly Cox, whom he married September 15, 1972; a son, John T. Beard of Struthers; five daughters, Lisa M. Major of Struthers, Robin Gibson of Hubbard, Patty Lou Wiesensee of Liberty, Ruth "Amber" Wiesensee of Youngstown, and Anna Marie Cappitti of Boardman; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Veronica) Wiesensee of Youngstown; and a sister, Dorothy Malmfeldt of Poland. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude and Mary Lou. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks for the wonderful care given to Herman while he was at the Hospice House, especially to Carol, Marcie, and Nancy.
