Henry G. Savaet
DEEFIELD BEACH, FLA. - Henry George Savaet was born March 19, 1925, and died April 11, 2015.
Henry was born in New Middletown on a farm with his mother, father and three brothers.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 33rd and 25th Infantries. He served in the Pacific Theater in the Phillipines and served in the occupation of Japan from 1943 to 1946. After the war, he went to work for Sinclair Oil Company and was owner of the Terrace and Mavette motels in Youngstown.
He met and married the love of his life, Mavis Jane (Cusick) Savaet. They were married 50 years. He and Mavis moved to Boca Raton, Fla., upon retirement in 1985. He was a member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church of Deerfield Beach and the Elks Club of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Julia (Mogelski) Savaet; his wife, Mavis; and his three brothers, Joe, John, and Stanley.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman.
Friends will be received Friday from 1 to 1:45 p.m.
