Helen Wales

Helen Wales, 86 Poland- Helen Wales, 86, of Poland, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Helen was born January 11, 1921, in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph and Helen Jane Green Lewis. She lived in Youngstown until moving to Poland in 1960. She was a 1938 graduate of Ursuline High School. While working at the Ward Baking Company, she met her husband, Clarence W. Wales. Helen was a member of Holy Family Church and a former member of its Altar and Rosary Guild. She was an avid gardener and homemaker. Helen especially loved spending time with her family. Helenâa�a��s husband, Clarence W. Wales, whom she married April 16, 1946, died November 25, 1986. She leaves three daughters, Joanne (Eugene) Canale of Finksburg, Maryland, Elaine (William) Zang of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, and Karen (Charles III) Sachs of Waukegan, Illinois; one son, William W. (Suzanne) Wales of Carmel, Indiana; one sister, Mary Jane Curtis of Youngstown; ten grandchildren, Jason (Candice) Canale, Nicole Canale, Jennifer (Timothy) Unrath, Marc Canale, Kristen (John) Reale, Katherine Wales, Megan Wales, William H. Zang, Daniel Sachs and Timothy Sachs; and one great-grandson, Alexander Canale. Besides her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her step-father, Lawrence McCracken. Funeral services will be Friday, 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, and Friday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM at the church.
