NEW MIDDLETOWN - Helen Umbrazun, 86, died Monday morning, March 10, 2014, at her residence.
Helen was born March 11, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of Guy and Mary Bollinger Grubbich.
She was employed at the Canteen at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Campbell Works, where she met the love of her life, her husband, Peter Umbrazun. They married Oct. 29, 1951, and Helen joyfully stepped into the role of homemaker. She was a very dedicated wife and mother. Helen also enjoyed playing bingo, and watching the Cleveland Indians, golf and bowling on TV.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Priscilla (David Gordon) Umbrazun of New Middletown, with whom she made her home and son, James Bednarik in Florida.
Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, on May 31, 1991; two sisters, Donna D'Amore and Goldie Borak; and one brother, Emil Grubbich.
A private memorial service will be held today at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
